A member of the Asteraceae family, armoise, or mugwort, as it is more commonly known, is grown in all temperature zones throughout the world. Most often, Armoise essential oil is steam distilled and produced in western Europe.
Armoise essential oil is clear to pale yellow in color. Its prinipal components include thujones, cineol and pinene. Because of its high thujone level, mugwort is considered an oral toxin. We recommend using it in very small amounts for fragrancing only.
